Four photographers were arrested for reckless driving after a late night car chase of pop star Britney Spears on the outskirts of Los Angeles, police said.
Los Angeles police spokeswoman Sara Faden said the four were among a group of paparazzi seen driving at high speed in the Mission Hills area of the city around 11.30pm on Wednesday on the trail of the troubled singer.
"Britney Spears was part of the group, but was not driving recklessly," Faden said. She said four men were booked for reckless driving and each ordered to put up $US5000 bail.
TMZ.com,
Spears told police that one of the cars, which she could not identify, may have tried to run her off the road. She has been trailed by paparazzi day and night for several months as her personal and professional life has fallen apart following her divorce from Kevin Federline and bitter battles over the custody of her two children.

I am glad they were. It is sad when people can't get privacy.
It is about time. Just seeing them on TV and how they circle a person or car is so annoying.
I'm not a Britney fan I hardly even knew she existed until the a few months ago. She has big problems and the media and paparazzi aren't helping by showing all her acting out. Britney obviously needs help and I really hope she gets help soon. I know a lot of people enjoy seeing a celebrity crack up but I think it's a sick thing to watch and enjoy. This is sad, what next a Britney suicide attempt? I hope not, I hope someone helps Britney soon, real soon
Things was fine when she's with Kevin Federline
AT LAST SOMETHING IS BEING DONE WITH THESE A****, AT LAST THEY ARE STARTING TO PAYING FOR THEIR HEARTLESS AND ANNOYING MANNER. I'M GLAD SOME ARE BEING ARRESTED. THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH ENDANGERMENT OF NOT ONLY THE CELEBRITIES BUT,WITH WHOLE COMMUNITY WHERE EVER SHE GOES. I'M NOT A BRITNEY FAN BUT, WE ALL KNOW (WOMEN). WHEN WE GET HURT BY OUR HUSBAND IT HURTS AND THEN THE DIVORCE AND THE KIDS. WE HAVE THE KIDS AND WE HAVE MORE PRESSURE THEN MEN IT TAKES A TOLL ON ANY ONE. EVERY TIME I SEE THAT ON TV I THINK OF PRINCESS DIANNA!!! OUR PRINCESS DIED BECAUSE OF THESE A**** AND THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE WALKING OUR STREETS JUST WAITING FOR THE SHOT OF A LIFE TIME AND NOT CARING WHAT LIFE THEY TAKE. I KNOW OF FREEDOM OF PRESS AND ALL BUT, PLEASE THERE ARE CHILDREN ALL AROUND US AND THIS IS HARD FOR ANYONE.BRITNEY HAS FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT CARE FOR HER AS A PERSON NOT A POP DIVA OR ANYTHING. JUST BRITNEY
Police should crack down on paparazzi. It makes me *BLEEPING* SICK!
You know if I was in that position, I would commission the city to have a squad car follow me around. This way a cop is right there to bust any paparazzi with reckless driving, speeding, or cutting people off. You hear about the paparazzi's driving habits all the time and they have no right to endanger the lives of others for a quick buck.
The race is on for the first photo of Britney dead - we'll pay millions for it and watch it 7,283 times a day on the news - maybe Diana will get a break and allowed to be dead. The paparazzi who takes the photo will probably be part of the herd that runs her off the road.
In her defense, she should have very powerful strobe lights blinking back at the paparazzi to offset the blindness that comes from their actions while she's trying to drive.
No...she's not a princess by any stretch of the imagination, and she's playing it for all she can get, but the real reason for all the attention is getting the first photo of her death.
Nobody wants her to recover...that's not news and not what
causes the paparazzi to screw up her life and not what sells magazines and news papers, I mean, the only ink that's wasted on the Osmonds lately was when Marie fainted - nothing about all the good she's done...no...we don't want Britney alive and successful...now...who's next????
Lindsay and Paris are waiting in line.
I like TMZ. Finally the celebrities are earning some of their money by being put in the spotlight and harassed by paparazzi all the time. I think that the other boring shows like inside edition should take a note from TMZ. If they don't want to be famous then they should have chosen a different career.
You do realize that by being famous it usually occurs to people who have talent and others find it enjoyable to see/hear/do their talent. There are some exceptions (Paris Hilton), but in the over-all picture when someone is famous they earned their money and popularity by what they do, not by how paparazzi stalks them, or what personal life is shown on TMZ.
...I hate bullies;and most paparazzi are just that...
C'mon folks - without the paparazzi how could we be sure Britney wasn't wearing panties yesterday?
